Very often manufacturer are forced to do strange modifications on consumer electronic devices caused of the new energy saving directive ERP2 which is valid for whole Europe.
For example there is a "Switch-On/Off" button but the usage for shutting on and shutting off is different. To switch on you only have to press the button one time and the device starts. To shut off the button must be pressed and hold for about 5 seconds. This fact was declared clearly in the manual, but nevertheless there are some confusion when consumer tries to handle the device for the first time.
It is not easy to execute the engergy saving directive coming from Brussel in case to modify an existing model without inventing it completely new. In case of complete new models this directive will considered previously so that end consumer can manage shut on and off also without reading a manual.
